Why To Shoot Film

  13. Dynamic range is greater than digital (HDR). In a single film, there is more dynamic range than 3/4/5 digital images taken in different exposures in a controlled environment and digitally manipulated to bring them together, and even then – it looks fake, it’s just not a real photo.
  14. In digital format, you click and shoot a lot and do not stop for a second to think about what you want to shoot how and why. In the film you stop and choose the most beautiful angle to catch the moment, suddenly the world is so beautiful.
  15. The negatives are the hard-drive-memory. No need to upload to the cloud, disk or hard drive. The pictures are saved in the negative film which last for years alongside the developed images and the scans on the computer.
  16. It’s cheap. A simple film camera can cost 5-150$. Film negatives are your memory cards and you do not need to upgrade every few years the camera, memory cards, computer, editing software, the cloud backup, the digital albums that no one looks at and the other ones that are replaced every few years/ All you need is a camera and a film.
  17. Waiting for pictures. After you shot a roll film and until you gave it to the lab to develop and received the pictures – time passes. Suddenly the day comes when the pictures come and every picture is a surprise and a gift of the moment you have caught. It’s Magic.
